Berry Margarita Recipe by Erin Vito

Try these delicious Berry Margaritas with your CSA berries for a summery spin on a classic cocktail.

Berry Margarita

1 cup berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries or blackberries)

¼ cup sugar

1 cup fresh lime juice (about 10 limes)

1 cup pure agave tequila

1/3 cup triple sec

1-2 T sugar or agave nectar

Lime wedges for garnish

Prepare berries: rinse and dry berries; slice strawberries; cut blackberries in halves or thirds. Toss berries with sugar and set aside. If blueberries are firm, muddle a bit to help break down the fruit.

Fill a pitcher about half way with ice. Juice limes until you have 1 cup of lime juice. Pour lime juice, tequila and triple sec in the pitcher and mix gently. Spoon the fruit mixture into the pitcher, leaving enough to add to the top of the drinks at the end. Mix thoroughly. Add sugar or agave nectar to taste.

Pour the drinks in glasses rimmed with salt (if desired) and filled with ice. Spoon the remaining berries on top and garnish with a lime wedge.
